Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN in the year of 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been since her age of nine. The ability to speak two languages has helped her get her first job at Univision, Miami. She worked alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg hired her after this as a sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist at KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often asked to serve as an anchor for sports and weather. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She became a sports host for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. As a sports anchor, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents hail native to Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985 in Mexico City. She's more mature than her younger sister. There is an older sibling. In the course of a few months, her father separated from her mother. She then remarried in 1995 a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. In the summer of 2006, she spent a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta still a senior at high school but she had a clear idea of the path she was looking for. So while assessing if Mount Union was right to her needs, Antonietta visited the university. It turned out that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. When she completed her high school education, she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Mark's passion for journalism and her self-confidence inspired her. She in turn attempted to live up to his standards and not fail him.
